keyless entry issues

i dont know whats wrong but my keyless entry remote doesnt like to work alot of times for me, it came with the car so its not aftermarket or anything and iv replaced the battery in the remote on my keychain, i can sit next to the driver side door and hit unlock time after time and it will not unlock unless i get lucky. iv discovered that if the doors are locked i can hit lock first and then unlock and it has a higher sucess rate rather than just hitting unlock...im afraid one of these days it wont unlock and im gonna b shit out of luck...so any idears?

Take a small flat end screwdriver and gently pry the fob open. If you look at it, you will see a couple of slots in the plastic. That is were you put the driver. Again, GENTLY pry open the fob. Inside, you will see a rubber template that lies on top of the circuit board. Pop out the buttons, and clean all of the parts with a cue tip and rubbing alcohol. wipe off the circuit board with a dry cotton ball, don't leave any strands. Carefully put the fob back together. It will "snap" back together without much force. Give it a try. My wifes fob was jacked up, and it works fine now.

No problem, just be gentle when you pry it open.
