Keyless Entry

I'm the proud new owner of a 99 3.0cl that I just got today. Beautiful car.
My question:
Is the keyless entry remote supposed to open the trunk? Mine doesn't seem to work. I don't see a keyhole back there so the only way I can get in the trunk is to use the trunk release inside the car.
Am I missing something??? If this is just the way it is, this is a MAJOR design flaw IMO.

Welcome!

Make sure you hold down the trunk button (the one on the right) for at least 2 seconds. If you don't see a flash on the remote (fob), your remote battery might be dead.

You need to hold down the button for 2 seconds as a safety feature (to avoid accidentally opening the trunk).

Thanks Dustbuster4!!!!
Works just like you said. I was kind of bummed out over this. I've never had any of these newfangled gadgets before and I don't have an owners manual yet.

Well, I guess this makes the car just about perfect.

Cool!

Enjoy your time, here on the board and enjoy your CL!

BTW: Check eBay for owner's manuals. I see them on there, every once in a while for less than $10.00.
