key programming

key programming

ive done a search for this but i only got results on the fobs, does anybody if you buy one of those blanks off ebay with the transducers is there anyway to program it yourself after getting it cut anywhere, or is this utterly impossible

you'll have to bring it into the dealer or a shop. THe key needs to be set in. My uncle got me a spare key but it wouldn't work, he had to program the key in.

I work at Ace hardware, we can program it. At least in Ellicott City we can.

I never had anyone come in that already had the blank, so I'm not really sure. If I was still working there I'd do it for free because it takes about 30 seconds. For a transponder blank plus cut plus program its $26, I doubt they would charge any more than $5 to program.

Will have to check it out. Got my CLS from Norris and they only gave me one black head key and the valet key. That is much cheaper then they would do it for and they prob. use AM key blanks anyway.
