on topic, i'd agree w/spencer. Get it and be the 1st to do it, so that others that would want to can give it a try lol.

As for gas mileage, idk why you get such crappy mileage, i beat the living daylights out of my CL but i get great gas mileage, maybe cuz i maintain my CL like you maintain your Legend.
maybe, i guess I'm just used to own a V8 should i save my money and build a badass 4cyl for my CL? do you think then i'd appreciate a 4cyl more?

what was the V8 in?

4cyl can be fun no doubt, but with out throwing gobs of money, or doing something radical, the CL may not be the best starting point.

I think your passion is your Legend so if u saved money to spend on the CL, it would somehow find its way to the Legend instead somehow lol. But if u did happen to build a 4 cyl for ur CL, i assure u you might be able to understand it from a different perspective. Personally i can't stand the lack of power in the stock f23 acura put in there and cant understand why they put that motor in such a heavy car, but after riding in Shaun's CL (H22 Euro-R), Arber's CL (supraman), my friend's built 92 f22 accord and an f23 turbo accord i was like wow, there is such a thing as a fun 4 cyl car.

i had a durango for about 4 years b4 getting my Legend. 4.7V8 light bolt on mods, full function air hood, gibson headers, and cat-back. larger TB and airaid TB spacer. roasted the rear tires like no bodies business. raped stock civic si's, preludes, that shit pulled STRONG to 120 for an suv like i've never seen. haha.

its not about the legend at all.

yes, i agree the F23 is weak but a built v6 vs a 4cyl? you guys are seruisly saying you can't get more power of a V6 as a 4cyl? i mean, idk. i know honda's V6's aren't the most powerful and more expensive to work on, but i guess the later part is probably the reason.

I guess i just like bigger motors, more displacement, more cylinders. I don't think a 4cyl will ever be as smooth as a V6 or larger motor.

speaking of the LEGEND haha. I'm going to pick up my 18's today with the new tires installed haha!!

you can definitely extract some power out of a V6, i'm not disagreeing with that. I was just saying that it isnt impossible to get power out of a 4 cyl too. Btw pics of legend when u get the rims on lol. And of the durango if u have any

yeah V6s have that extra boost of torque over any 4 banger, but what drives me to decide my favorite powerplant is more than just number of cylinders, I mean im not like the average american car nut that thinks bigger is better. . . what motivates me is power-to-COST ratio, ill build what costs less to make fast

Hi-jacked

Wow this thread got hi-jacked bad. Anywho, I was checking out the way the K24 sits in a 2004 Accord. and I can see how the mounts for the 94-97 accord will sit in for a CL, still leaves me wondering how they will work... The other thing that I question is the way the transmission will work also, since the engine is now flipped into 180º's.

I've never built an engine nor have taken one out, but I'm really interested in doing this swap, since the H22 ... well like they say (out with the old, in with the new)

If anyone as some experience with K24 swaps or swaps for the 1st gen CL, I think this is where they need to be, and keep the thread going in that direction... not in C32 NSX engine direction. haha
