The only thing that matters is the diameter of the intake piping you are using.

FAQ

* Q. Is the filter re-useable and re-washable? If so, how do I keep it clean?
A. Yes. The filter is re-useable and re-washable. Buyer can use the water or filter cleaning agent to clean it. We recommend buyer to clean the filter at least once a month.
* Q. What's the difference between Short Ram Air Intake and Cold Air Intake (Long Ram)?
A. Most of the Short Ram Air Intake is a traditional, underhood intake system that is placed in the stock location of the factory air-box system. However, Cold Air Intake (Long Ram) has the intake tube placed behind the front bumper or fender side to acquire colder, denser air. Therefore, Cold Air Intake (Long Ram) would relatively result in better performance.
* Q. Does the Cold Air Intake (Long Ram) have hydro-lock problem (water-sucking to the engine) ?
A. Most of the Two Pieces design Cold Air Intake can be converted to the short ram air intake to prevent the hydro-lock problem during the raining season. However, buyer can purchase the bypass valve from our ebay store to prevent the hydro-lock problem. Please click here to purchase the bypass valve. If you are really concerned about the hydro-lock problem, you can also click here to purchase the short ram air intake from our ebay store.

Just to let you know I did the same thing with my 2.3 and got an ANNOYING hum out of the full CIA. What I had to do to fix it was just it in the first piping and put the filter on the end of it essentially making it a SRI. Just a little FYI.

It depends on how it mounts up. Nothing wrong with a SRI anyway - and let's face it, it's not like these things make 20 HP. I have a SRI and it sounds awesome, and has made a difference in my fuel mileage. Either way, whether you use it as SRI or a CAI, it'll sound better, make a small difference in HP, and make your gas mileage a little better.

I don't think the longer pipe will fit as a SRI, I guess it depends on the car? :shrugs:
