Just got car-small problem

I just picked up my 97 CL two weeks ago and I'm beginning to notice a couple problems. The first is the most annoying. Whenever I turn on the heat there is a loud squeaking noise coming from the passenger side of the dash. Anyone know how to deal with it? I've turned up the radio to drown it out but with passengers I can't really do that. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

does the squeaking sound more like a hissing? and is it happening on AC too?

cuz mine does that when the AC is on. if you can hear that hissing, it's b/c you're running low on freon. that means there's a leak somewhere in the AC system.

I dunno if it does that when you turn on the heater cuz i'm from the south. don't need the heater yet.

hope you still have some warranty from the place you brought it from

i gave my dash a kung fu chop and that noise dissapeared...i think its the bearing's in the fan motor that causes the squeak.

Yes, it problably is. It happened to my CL, and I had to replace the blower motor because of the bearing. It costed $120.00 for the part.

After I replaced it I took the old one apart and low and behold the brass bushings (bearings) were rusted. I should have taken it apart before I replaced it with the new one. I could have just greased it.

Yeah that's what I figured the problem was. I'll try the kung fu chop method to see if that fixes the problem first. As far as the other problems go just small stuff like I need to adjust the tension on the ebrake because right now it isn't working and I need to replace the stereo because the aftermarket one in there is crap!

Yes, it is the fan blower motor bearings going bad. The motor will need replacing. I have replaced that along with both window regulators. Known problems witht he CLs.
