Go grab a Hayden transmission cooler right now before any other mods, it'll give you some times to prepare for that evil tranny ... If i'd known this info when i got my car, i would have done that long before...

My tranny is in limbo right now... when it's cold (morning) the car will jerf/ fail to shift, but when the engine is warmed up it's fine...

And with the Transmission cooler, would my tranny be able to handle a cold air intake and still run for 4-5 years? or would it be able to handle a sports exaust aswell?

the mods you mentioned have little to do with the tranny's fate, but they do put stress on the engine... if you're lucky, the tranny will last the 4 years in college (i'm starting my 3rd year *knock on wood* )

Just be extremely meticulous with maintaining your car (oil, atf, ps fluid, etc.) and you'll be fine.

by the way, i have a lot more mods than what you mentioned and the car is fine *FURIOUSLY knocking on wood*. check my signature.

not necessarily be always "light" but you need to put in extra effort to protect the tranny (fluids drain and refill is onething you can do)

try to stay in paranoia and your tranny's life will be prolonged...
