I'm a little confused why it says VTEC when the JDM J30A3's were IVTEC (I believe it was A3, but would have to verify it, havent talked about this particular engine in years).

Anyways, since they use different heads, I would ask myself if the manifold is even the same. That'd be my first question.

Ya and it looks like a J32 cover on it also.

Very strange...

I've always wanted this type of cover like the J32's, I actually looked into this swap, but like cocoa said, the IM is different

The jdm J30 was an engine I looked into before ever blowing my engine. I learned that the wiring on it would have been just a big of a pain in the butt as the CLS wiring. So that being said, it' far more beneficial (hp wise) going with paying for the pain of dealing with the wiring of the cls as opposed to the jdm j30 (I believe it put out 215hp). But, it might fit better/easier than the cls, although that's something someone would have to confirm on their own.

I did some research on this engine due to curiosity! Anyway this J30A engine above was used in the 2nd generation Honda Odyssey in Japan. The 1st gen Odyssey 95-98 RA5 did come equipped with the J30A1 from the 98-02 Accord V6 from the states with 200HP and a 4AT. The 2nd Gen Odyssey 99-03 used the JDM J30A in the RA8 and RA9 models equipped with a 210HP rating. RA8 was 2WD and Ra9 was 4wd(that was interesting to hear with 4WD and paired with the J30)! Another thing that was interesting is that the JDM J30a in the 2nd gen odyssey was paired with a 5AT with Honda S Matic(Tiptronic). I am still pissed at honda for not offereing a Honda S matic on the 03-07 Accord V6's, plus Honda doesn't even use Honda S matic on the 8th gen accord!! Only acuras and the honda fit get that treatment! WHY HONDA WHY!?

Anyway here is the website where I got this info,
