intake is an intake. you pay for the R&D. And ebay intake with a quality filter ( fujita or K&N will perform just as well. Im running 3 inch piping cai thats been coated with thermoinsulate and fujita filter ( has a velocity stack on entry as well ) and it performs Extremely well. Im about to try the BPI velocity stack and filter combo as well then measure the difference at TCs ......we'll see what happens

Newb Guide V3 FTW....

Ebay intake. For what you are paying for what you are getting, its really the best bet.

is the insulation worth the cost? how much cooler does it actually keep intake air temps? and about how much would i be looking at for enough to wrap mine? wait ive got a short ram, so it wouldnt really do anything would it...

would keeping part of the stock airbox near the wheel well direct the cold air upto the short ram? because i noticed that it points to the short ram when i was looking down at it one day.

its not a wrap its a paint/coat. After the coating my intake temps dropped 23 degrees in dry wheather. Made a nice difference and looks good too. The fujita filter has a velocity stack on entry before it hits the gauze and this help the air enter the intake faster. Every little thing helps. the BPI flowstack and filter combo are on and it sounds quiter ...not sure if i gained hp over the fujita till i get some numbers.

I dunno. Either way, its not gonna make a WHOLE lot of difference. Intakes dont do what a lot of people are expecting out of them. Mainly because they are advertised at 10+ hp. But in reality they are more like 4-5. IF THAT....

With that said, I took out my airbox behind my bumper just because I had my bumper off from doing the blacked housings, and it was not really serving a purpose other than adding the 5 pounds of weight.

They don't add 10+ hp. As far as the air, I left mine in figuring the same, but took it out when I went from short ram to cai. I feel that I get better airflow from my cai without the box there, seems like a big paperweight if you ask me
