i put a intake on my 97 2.2..their is another air way it looks like that flows off of the intake tube.. can anyone tell me what that does and if its ok to just bypass that? also what do you recomend I do with the valve breather tube that is connected to a coolent line?

 

There should be no coolant lines on your intake, they're vaccuum lines, post a pic so we can tell u for sure

 

yeah there shouldnt be no coolant lines on ur intake....regardless if they're SRI or CAI. vaccum hoses and perhaps the bypass valve inbetween the two pipes of CAI...thats about it....any pix jus to be sure...

 

i will try to get pics later..but there is the breather hose that runs from the CAI to the valve cover..this is actually metal and their is another line that buds up aganist it which looks like it runs from a coolent hose...

and my other question the STOCK intake rubber tubing has another air under it..does anyone know what this second air way is for? i just took the CAI pipe and went over it..

 

There are 2 tubes, they're both vaccuum lines

 

two vacuum lines, cone filter, tube, two brackets to mount and thats it...but u have a CAI then its one more tube going down by ur tire, depending if u got a 3.0 or not 2.2 nd 2.3 are different mod

 

o btw these intakes doesnt do jack to ur HP...when they say 7-13 its all bull crap...probably 0.5 increase. lol. but yeah unless u have other mods in ur car then maybe...jus to put it out there
