Here's the piece I'm talking about:


The instruction that came with the V2 said to replace that whole system. In taking a look at it and I can't figure out why the hell they did this (it's the same piece):


Is there a reason for that piece of rubber going up and over? Is it a vacuum effect? And is there a reason I can't just run a straight shot:


Did anyone else replace that piece when they did it, and do you have pictures?

Yah, that doesn't really focus in on my problem. There's one post about it, but it still doesn't answer my question. I'm wondering why they engineered it like that. It would make absolutely no sense to replace the piece of metal with a piece of rubber (like the one post says in that DIY) becuase then you'd just have one long piece of rubber, that wouldn't even fit together.

 

i installed my intake the same as you did from looking at your pictures. there was one small hose from the old intake and i connected it to the new intake with the rubber housing provided

 

Don't remove that vaccuum line, just extend it if necessary
