Intake Battle

So what do you guys think short ram or cold air. If you post what you think is better back it up with hp gain or dyno sheets. I just want to know I have had both and I know which one I think is best but not sure on the power end

I've had both and while the short ram may feel faster, the CAI definately puts down more power logically, for the short ram is inhaling warm air from the engine bay.

Well right now I have a weapon r and it sounds bad and I am way faster than I was with my AEM but I was wondering if the the V2 is better. Oh and all that about pulling in warm air, I put a box on it and weapon r also makes this cool ram air induction pipe that you can run down to the front of the car. Don't know if that works though

I doubt your weapon R is faster then the AEM because they don't do nearly the R&D time. THe weapon R is just louder most likely.

aem cold air you can't go wrong. weapon R look at those as well but i heard a lot of negative feedback, such as sound nice but perform poorly, therefore i went with aem cai and i have no complaints sounds mean and performance is there

piping is piping. aem, v2, ebay shit, its all the same. the filter is where its at. if the truth be known the ebay 4$ ones are prolly better cause they dont filter shit. almost free flowing. as for ram or cold. who gives a shit bout .5 horses anywayz. ill go for the sound of the ram.

hmmm....filter's that dont filter shit.......which means they dont do their job......who knows about THAT intake????

and plus....do you REALLY want "shit" getting into your engine?

OH YEAH! I wanna save 100 bucks by getting the el cheapo intake so when it doesn't filter shit i get to spend 4,000 bucks on a new engine! YIPPIE!

i never said it was better for ur engine filtering wise, but it would give u more power. but u could just get the piping which comes with a shit filter for 20$ off ebay vs 150+$ and get a good filter. i DID say the shit filters didnt filter shit, but im not stupid and would never get a shit filter and leave it on. YIPPIE!

What I like about the Comptech Icebox is that it's a true cold air system that's made out of plastic & rubber. Less heat transfer. The filter stays in the engine bay so you also don't really have to worry about it getting soaked or anything. Here's a pic:
