I just bought that Mods book from Haynes... They talk about guage swapping, but I think you have to change the LEDs. Sorry not to be much more help than that.
Good Luck. Show us pics when you finnish it... I've been thinking about Indiglow guages. Although, I did see some old-school LEXUS guages I liked, wondered if I could simulate those floresent needles.

I know the older acuras and hondas use a plastic colored strip that can be easily removed but I think ray99cl is right it could be a rubber cover. Kind of like a condom. Just like the one on the ashtray light.

I know exactly what bulbs you're talknig about... and I would have liked to change them too, but now my AC S7 are so bright, you dont even notice the lighting...
Man I love these things.

They are 194 bulbs and I put hyperwhites in mine. I took out the light above and it looked sick. I have pictures of it. Bad thing is, the needles aren't translucent, so at night it looks like I have no needles. But my guages look good.

Here's the photo, but it looks better in person. See how it's lit up, but the needle doesn't glow. That's cause the overhead light inside the cluster is removed. I have since put them back in so I could see the needles. I need to find some glow in the dark stuff to spray the needles or something.

the rings come with the bezels but most ppl dont use the bezels, they just use the rings.

lol i got a few pm's about my gauges. Yes that is a black light up there, which lights up the needles. There is also two blue lights pointing down too, I didnt know untill I installed them...i was like...whoa cool. Its about an 8inch long light. It fit perfect, by taking out the oem light, and making some cutting mods. I think I took some pictures of it when I was working on it. I still have the metal bezel that it came with if anyone wants. Will post more pictures when I get home.
