Underwater HID Ballast?

What do you guys think of a ballast fully functioning under a tank of water? I remember seeing a picture of one, but I can't find it, I'll post a pic of it later, any opinions? FREAKING CRAZY wow

I really need to wrap them in plastic? What did you use saran wrap?! One of mine is always getting wet because you can tell by the sticker on it. Also my intake is touching the balast (the filter) is that ok?

saran wrap will work..i used a peice of a black plastic garbage bag and electrical taped it secure..its really your preferance on what kind of waterproof plastic you wish to use just make sure the whole thing(ballast)is covered.
If your intake filter(cai or sri?) is touching it is there any way to move the ballast to a better spot?

A ballast has an oil inside it that keeps it cool. The case is sealed and should not allow the oil to escape or the water to get in. As for it working under water, many parts of a car, believe it or not, will still work under water. Just plain old electrical engieneering will tell you that. And I would imagine that some diving rigs do use a similar product for underwater ilumination.

By the way, that is pretty cool. If you crash into a river, they might find your car faster if the fuse pannel doesn't short out.
