installing a new stereo
installing a new stereo
I have a two year old alpine from my old care and i want to put it in my 98 2.3 cl prem. i think i have six speakers...by putting in the new stereo will it sound better at 4x45 on the alpine or just leave the factory stereo in?
An adapter is only like $10-$15. Don't cut off your stock harness. Just plug the aftermarket harness into the stock one and match up the wires that coordinate with the functions (i.e. LF speaker RR speaker, auxilary, etc.)

You have to take the center console out first. There are screws all over the console but they are not hard to find. After you got that out of the way, you need to remove your center bezel. Start with taking the plastic trim ring around the shifter out. There will be two screws at the end of the bezel where it meets with the center console. There is one screw behind the ashtray. The rest should be all clips. The radio should have a metal bracket holding it from the bottom with two screws. Hope that helps.

No shit. 20 seconds or less to take out the stereo on a 2.2 98+ is a bitch, gotta take the consol out and shit.

When i got rear end by a ford explorer my head unit popped itself out onto the shifter.
