installed procarparts intake & rear strut tower brace

Rear strut tower brace was a snap, except now I have to remount my sub because it was resting against the backseat.

Heavy P, the end bolts don't go nearly all the way into the brace, but it's strong enough... I yanked on it as hard as I could and it's real tight. Haven't been able to test this one out yet since I haven't driven the car for more than 5 minutes.

Installed the intake too. IMO, it doesn't sound as nice as just removing the silencer from the stock intake. It's much less rumbly (used to vibrate the hood and the interior) and it's now more raspy and slightly louder. The car doesn't feel any faster either, but my butt dyno sucks.

You also don't get the 3800 rpm VTEC kick anymore, probably because this box isn't used with an aftermarket intake:

But hey, for the price, this stuff is great. I paid $150 for the intake and $180 for the rear strut tower brace for my old 2.5RS... procarparts charged me $40 for the intake and $20 for the rear brace!

Hey ridin low.....

Does the mounting bracket fit correctly? The one i got kinda points towards the back of the car instead of at each other. Get what I mean?

Looks good, thanks for the pics!

Yeah, it fits right after a bit of tweaking. I had the ends screwed into the bar a bit too far and both ends were pointing towards the back of the car... but when I got it right, everything lined up. Since the threading is reversed on one side, what I did was I put both ends into the bar one full turn. Then I bolted one endpiece onto the car. Then I rotated the bar until the other endpiece lined up and I bolted that one down.

nono.. no exhaust work... there are 2 little tubes that you need to connect to the intake .. i know one of them is the oxygen sensor.. not sure what the other one is...

The only tube I had to connect to my intake pipe was a vacuum line. The O2 sensors sit in the exhaust and monitor your A/F ratio.

Ahh, that's why, you have a 3.0... mine is a 2.2.

What's with that video clip? Did you forget to turn on the lights?

i got a strut bar from them too. I needed to bang it down w/ a hammer to get it down. It's kind of a shitty brace though. It's not very strong and i didn't notice much improvement. But hey, it was fuckin cheap and did make a noticeable difference

You needed a hammer??? That sucks, mine fit perfectly once it was adjusted properly.

sumo, you should hear a 2.2/2.3 with a stock intake with the silencer removed, it's much deeper sounding than an open intake. However, I did set off my neighbor's alarm with this setup yesterday.

To clean your engine just buy a spray bottle of Simple Green and soak the interior. Start it up and let it run for about 5 minutes. wait to the engine colls some and hose off.

The stuff is great! Plus it is biodegradable so I can keep all the eco-weenie co-heads happy. It evens smells like a pine forest when your done.

Clean engine and you save $0.99 on an air 'fresher
