Question Installed Prelude shifter

After seeing what people had done with their CL for a short shifter, I decided to get the prelude shifter. And although I'm happy with the height difference, the throws are still a little longer than I expected and the shifting is still loose just like stock.

I was wondering what you guys would recommend to tighten the shifiting? One of my friends was talking about brass bushing links or something? Would buying the prelude shifter adapter help at all?

I just went to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ and searched for prelude parts. Not that cheap, but cheaper than some of the name brands out there.

id rather have a honda genuine than an aftermarket. unless it was proven and tested to be better than an OEM shifter.

get the prelude shifter adapter... i think i was the second person on the board to do the prelude shifter after d98clturbo... anyway... i would have thought that more people would have done this... it really cuts down the height and the shift. Hope you hammered down the metal tabs a bit... wish my interior was preferated black.

how does this 1 compare to the pspec shortshifter? better than that or worse...cuz i think the pspec 1 was especially designed to fit and function

well i got mine for $10 and installed it myself. The pspec is $160. It shortens the height of the shifter and thats what I mainly wanted. Although the pspec might be better because it shortens throws and such too, i just cant justify it being $150 better

$10>160 in this case. Also, if you look on klep's website, there's DIY instructions on how to do it for $10

There is the other side. I'll look into the adapter, but I'm pretty happy with the height difference.

The throws are significantly shorter, MUCH better than stock, but I've driven other cars with like an S2000 or even a short shifter added to an Eclipse, and its just a completely different feel.

The shift knob/e-brake handle/e-brake boot are MOMO.

I was looking up on Ebay for adapters, and prices range from $10-40. Does it really matter which one I get? They are all made out of aluminum it seems, the only difference is how nice they look... which doesn't matter because no one will be seeing it anyway.....???

Exactly, just cut off the old one and putting this one on is a piece of cake. If you get it at MOMO though, you have to buy 3 parts, the boot, the e-brake handle, and an adapter to fit them together. Especially with MOMO it adds up to a good amount of money.

Go here www.forbiddenmotorsports.com and get it. It's the only true short shifter made for the Accord/CL. I had one for my Accord, and it was my favorite mod.
