Installation Suggestions and Tips
Installation Suggestions and Tips
Hey all!
I realize this is late in the asking, but I'm going to install my Eibach Prokit in the morning, and was wondering if anyone had suggestions/tips/warnings/etc. I have all the correct tools (including spring compressors), and expect all to go well, but just thought I'd ask around. Thanks!

as for penetrating lube
Most people use liquid wrench because thats what they have at kragen/pepboys etc.....
if u can...see if you can locate KROIL.
Kroil penetrationg lube is awesome....imo works a lot better than liquid wrench
look for it on the net
Call some of your buddies to come over and help out

just remember one important thing: make sure that the front & rear bolts BOTH can be unscrewed. when i tried to lower my cl, they first did the front, but when they got to the back, the bolts couldn't be unscrewed (it was too rusty). as a result, i had a car w/ the front lowered and the back stock. i sold my springs after that
p.s. dustbuster4 remember to post pics!!

PB Blaster is awesome too!! smells kinda strong, but it works wonders. If you cant get the rear bolts out, you'll have to break them off and re-drill through the bushing. Its harder than it seems. And yes, get some friends to help... someone can be doing the fronts while your working on the rears or something.

when you take out the back struts be careful of the e-brake and brake lines and use a crow bar to push down lightly on the rear trailing arm to give you the clearance to pull out the strut. the same crowbar will probably help in getting the lower bolt in and out, you will need to push up and down on the trailing arm to move it(the bolt) in and out. good luck

Thanks for all of the suggestions!
Although, I guess I'll be one of the lucky ones, if this process runs anything close to "smooth"!
I'll reply later (and hopefully post pics) when it's done.
