Installation Question

I know that everyone is probably sick of gauge questions but humor me please. I have my reverse indiglo gauges that I got off of eBay gauges and I was reading the old posts about how to install them since I decided to try it myself this weekend and my switch thing seems different then what other people got. I took pictures of my switch Switch. It's got a big dimmer knob and a switch to turn it from green to blue although all it really does is change them from dark blue to a lighter blue, but anyway my question is how do I hook this up so it will go into my stock dimmer switch? Or do I have to keep the big ugly knob? Thanks for any help I really want to try and get them in this weekend and I want to make sure I know what I am doing before I start talking things apart.
Thanks
Melanie

You still need to keep the big ugle knob to use the gauges.
That knob is alot different from mine, the one i got is just a knob, no color switch.
You can splice the red wire coming off the transformer box to one of the red wires coming out the back of the stock dimmer, then the black one off the transformer to the black one on the stock dimmer. You will still need the new dimmer to use them though...

just hide the knob and switch under the dash somewhere. thast what i did. out of sight.. out of mind. and if u need to u can always get to it. incase some fool wants to see it blue or whatever instead of green

My car is supposed to be done tomorrow with the indiglos installed. Those asses better have hooked it up correctly considering it will cost me $$$ because they broke off 2 gauge needles.

Your STOCK dimmer switch has three wires, red, black and Red with black dashes.

Be sure to connect the red guage dimmer switch wire to the RED AND BLACK stock wire, then connect up the black to black wires. TEST it before you put it all back together, be sure it works and then just zip-tie that dimmer switch to one of the main cables under the dash so that it is out of the way.

Good luck.

Be careful and go SLOW when you install the guages, if you rush it you'll probably break a needle.
