I need to replace the entire front bumper on my 97 cl 3.0, does anyone have any info on the parts needed, websites that may offer the parts, advice or anything else helpful? Thanks in advance!!

 

first. I LOVE your user name. :P

second. Call up your local acura dealer to send you a fax or go into the dealer itself and ask the parts guy to print you a picture of the front bumper.

it'll show you all the brackets, absorbers + misc.

They are both good places, if you have to replace the "whole bumper" you may need the impact absorbers and such not just the plastic cover. They have the whole bumper assemblies

 

r u sure you need everything or just the bumper cover?

 

is it crushed in?

 

no..it just has a big hole right in the middle, and a gash/scratch under the drivers side headlight. On both sides it has pulled away from the top part of the front quarter panels; but the bumper itself is not loose?!?

 

thankx!!! Unfortunately my "local" acura dealer has about 15 people working in the parts/service department and their combined IQ is about 12!! Either that or they are all pathological liars. Probably both of the above is true!! The first and LAST time that I was there I recommended they check out this site and attempt to absorb some of the knowledge it contains!! But you did give me a great idea; I will call the Acura HQ people (the ones who gave me my radio code without having to pay the dealer $110 dollars to take out the radio and call the same number to get the info)! Thankx again!!

 

Have you tried getting the hood repaired by body repair shops? if it's just a hole then i think it's a simple weld-paint job...

 

Sounds like just the bumper cover then, you can get one of those from one of the websites I posted, or a junkyard maybe. I have the same problem on my CL, my boy backed into my bumper with his exhaust pipes and put 2 huge holes in the bumper, cuz I was too low for him to see when backing up He gave me $$ for a new one at least
