Infinity KAPPA PERFECTs [6 1/2 or 5 1/4]
I'm looking at getting Infinity kappa perfects for components, considering fitment agony and ease of installation, and overall sound quality, which would be better to install in the first gen, placing the tweeters in the stock tweeter locations. Money isn't really a factor, just ease of install and SQ matter.

Well how much work do you want to do? The 5.25s will prob drop in the stock mid locations w/ little work. The 6.5s may require some cutting of the stock baffle, and they will be a lil deeper than the 5.25s.
What are you running in the rear for fills? If you have a nice set of 6x9s in the rear, they should cover any lack of lower mids in the 5.25s.

Uh, reread my post again.
5.25s = easyer to put in, prob won't notice much diff in the lower mids w/ the 6x9s in the back
6.5s = harder to put in, might have to cut stuff, more lower mids

what exactly are lower mids? ahh, so it seems 5 1/4 is the way to go, and then have the tweeters go into the stock locations?

Lower mids = 80-500Hz
Too much makes a system sound REALLY muddy, altho this is rarely a problem in car audio. Too little makes it sound thin, mroe of a problem in car audio.

I've got 6.5 components in my fronts, and yeah, it did require cutting the back baffle. From what I remember, you can actually take out the baffle and cut it. I think I might have used my dewalt jigsaw for that.
