you think a H22a engine and auto tranny will be a lot easier to swap? Its like 1700 complet on ebay. And i can always buy an f23 5 spd later on. For 1700 ur basiclly getting the auto tranny for free since the h22a is usually around 1700 without a 5 spd.

It would be an easier swap since you don't have as many parts to buy to do the manual swap.
In any case heres everything you need to do a 5sp swap.

Sup Pimpin? Well... i'm up to 160 or 170k miles... 2.2 auto...
Mines on its way out... Bangs into 4th when it's cold and downshifts funny... Works ok when it's warm though, with the occassional studder... I'm not sure what i'm gonna do yet. I'll have to do something- probably milk it for a little while longer though... I'm even pondering an auto2manual conversion... I'm gonna have to calculate the $$'s...
The first or 2cd time you had it replaced or rebuilt, can you give me an estimate of $$ so i have an idea of what i'm looking at??
Oh and if you keep having the same tranny rebuilt and it keeps going on you... Maybe grab a different transmission from a junkyard and rebuild that one- if of course you ever (hopefully you don't) get to your 4th.
