Ignition switch recall (Car Stalls)

I have a 98 2.3 CL. I can remember getting a recall letter years back about the ignition switch and the car stalling. I never had this problem so I didn’t pay much attention to it. Well guess what,,, It’s happening now later in my car’s life. To the point now where it’s annoying. Sometimes the car will just die…. Sometimes the car will start then stall as soon as the key returns to the on position. I guess it’s a problem with the contacts on the ignition switch? If I call my local dealer will they still make this repair even though the recall was years ago?

Thanks!

It's a safety recall, but i dunno if they'll apply it to your problem. The recall was about the key coming out while the car was still running, not stalling. G'luck

get on the acura website, ownerslink thing. once you put in your car's vin it will tell you if the recall was actually ever done on the car. if it wasnt then maybe you can find a nice dealer and they might still do it, otherwise it will probably be $$. that might not even be the problem.

I know the recall repair was never done. I am the only owner of the car. With how the ig switch is acting up on start up sometimes I'm going to assume it's the switch...

I can take out the key while I'm driving and it still doesn't stall.

Got the car to the dealer yesterday. Replaced the ig switch for free and even washed my car. So far the starting problem is solved and the car has not stalled again while driving. Looks like the problem is solved...
