If my car got keyed

My car is insured by my parents (from all-state), but I was wondering, if my car got keyed, and I filed a police report do you guys think they would give me the loot for a new paint job? I hear about other people having that happen to them with their insurance, but is that common for most insurances to insure. Does the insurance have to be full coverage.

There has to be some kind of catch that i'm not seeing because why doesn't everybody just key up their car and file a police report and get a new paint job.

there is a catch, if you get caught you most likely get dropped from your insurance company and have a very hard time finding someone that will cover you.

insurance fraud =

They will cover it as long as you have comprehension. And it will not raise your premium as you are not at fault. You will pay the deductable. Luckily mine was just 100$

Its the same as personal property insurance on a Rolex or diamond for example. If you want the replacement money, you just go in and say its lost or was stolen and you have a free money. Takes a piece of shit to do it though in my opinion.

Exactly....my grandpaw used to be an insurance agent and he told me that someone actually took a hammer to the car and "faked hail" so he could get new car panels and new paint. (now this was way back a long time ago when my grandpaw was young and the cars came with alot of chrome back then. They look at this guys car and could tell it was faked because there was no damage to the chrome parts on the car. So bacicily, this dumbass had to live with a car with hammer holes all over it because he was stupid.

All im saying is its not worth tryin to do. Theres always some way that they will probably be able to tell....
