idle question again

Ok wassssssup all my a-cl peoples!

I still want to know why my car idles at 1,500rpm all the time WHEN I START IT UP. Day or night and if i havent been in the car for lets say 1 hr it idles at 1,500rpm then 5 min later it goes down to 750rpm. If i just drop it in reverse it will go down to 750 and stays at 750 whenever im stopped. But why is the car always idling soo high when i start it? My friends car doesn't seem to do this...And usually in the morning ill start it up and go back inside and grab my stuff and then when I go to drive the car its at 750rpm, but Is it bad if I drop it into reverse from 1,500? I have done it a couple times when i was in a rush for class and it seems to kinda SLAM down for a second. thankz in advance

That is the way the engine warms itself up fast. Though i can't see why this would be happening in florida to your car. Could be a bad thermo

Ya when I rev up the car to about 2500 rpm it goes down a tad bit faster but still takes a good 4-5min to go down to normal idle at any time of the day even when its 80 degrees out and even like 30 min after i drove it ...

Sorry bringing my own thread back from the dead...

I have gotten my thermostat replaced but my car still idles at 1,500 rpm all day long (when I start the car up). And its really annoying cause usually i wait like 3-4 minutes until it hits 750 rpm. Anyone know what could be my problem? Should I even let it go down to 750 or just drop it in reverse?

BTW how do i clean my throttle body? And what cable should i check!?

i noticed that when i do oil change... if i use synthetic oil.. my car idles super super low... (i just realized that) when i used standard 10W-30 engine oil.. it idled at 1500 for about 10 seconds.. then drops down to 1100 for about 1-2 min.. then drops to 900 for about 1 min.. then stays around 750...

but.. as i said before.. after i switched to synthetic.. it idels at around 1000 when i start it up.. and it drops to about 500..

and on hot days.. when i try to start my car up.. it idels around 300.. (odd...)
