Idle to low

Is there a way I can adjust the idle to 2000 rpm?

You can adjust your idle cable to whatever rpm your little heart desires but 2000 is TOO high. 800-1300 is accepted. At least to me.

my idle kinda pulses when I start the car for a second, then evens out about 800. Does this happen to anyone else?

before you move an idle adjustment screw try cleaning air filter, throttle body, and carbon deposits

Would the brakes physically be able to stop the vehicle?

Man, I'm glad he has a 5sp... if you did that to a 3.0, the transmission would fall out when you put it in gear. The brakes would hold it, but you would feel the frame stretching...

Leave it around 800 at idle... WTF would you want to do that anyway.... it wouldn't sound cool... it wouldn't be cool. If your idleing at 400, you should just turn the idle set screw about 1/8th turn clockwise... that would prolly do it. My civic had a problem that was related to the seasons... naturaly aspirated carborator... when the weather got cold, had to turn it up... But I don't think you are suffering the same issue... iacv or maps sensor may be the issue. Ohm the parts if the idle set screw doesn't help you.

Good luck.
