Ok, so Im sure you guys have seen my acura before, Ive posted pics etc, etc. I have just been given the oppurtunity, to trade my Cl, for a 2001 Acura 3.5 RL w/Navi, I would then owe $2,000.00 However the money doesnt matter. Its the fact that for months now, I have wanted to get a larger car, due to the fact friends getting in an out of my CL, is ruining my seats, and carpets. I just do not now if I wanna get rid of my baby, its been in my family since 2000, I know its gotta go eventually, I just hit 175,000, she runs like the day we got it. The RL, has 172,000 miles, and is immaculant in and out. I just dont know what to do, and Id like some opinions, I love my lil sports car, plus it has sentamental values, being it was my moms. The Rl is worth between $9,000 and $12,000, my Cl is worth about $5,500!! I believe the answer is obvious, but I also dont know the reliability of the Rl's in general, nor do I know how this particular Rl has been treated when it comes to the engine!! From looks, it has been taken care of, but we all know looks are decieving!! Thanks guys for any comments, they'll all be taken into consideration as to what I do from here, because I trust anyone's opinion, who is smart enough to drive an Acura!!

I care simply because, Im unsure of what I want to do, and I trust what fellow Acuraziners have to say, and yes, that my cars value according to Kelly Blue Book. I dont want to get rid of a car, that I know is serviced very well, is waxed once a month, detailed once every two months professionally, and then regret it, as Im 18 years old, and make about $700 a month, I know for a fact my car is a good car, and cannot afford to repair an Acura!! Needless to say expensive lol But thanks though

 

Stop giving ur friends rides, tell em to get a car or take a bus. That way your CL stays fresh and you keep the car w/sentimental value. Problem solved.

 

175K miles and they still want 10-12? I dunno if it's really worth it man, that's a lot of miles, but if it's what you want, then why not?

 

Lower your car and take out your back seat, now you have two reasons you cant take your friends or fat chicks.

The company is giving me $3,000 for my car as trade, I would then owe $2,000.00 therefore Im essentially giving them $5,000.00 for the Rl, I was saying that is what the RL is worth!! The RL was repoccessed as the owners tampered with the Navigation device that was installed to prevent owners from driving if they mis a payment!

 

so you're only paying 5K for the RL?

how many miles does your CL have?

 

Its has 175,188, recently got a busted windshield, and the lights in the A/C controls blew out due to bad alternator

 

tell your friends to buy the RL. that way they can drive from now on.

 

Depending on the condition of RL. I say you go for it. RL comes with more features, newer, 2000 less miles, and looks better than CL.imo. You just have to make sure that it is in good condition, especially the engine.

I'd say go for it both have very high miles. But with the stat of cl trannys (not sure about rl ones). Hit it up get the rl.

the rl seems like quite a different car from the cl, so it's whatever you're interested in
it's up to you i guess, check out the rl forum to see if there are any common problems to look out for.
Seems like a really good deal though, almost too good to be true IMO
