I really need an explanation (check engine light aand extended warranty)
Please someone help me. I have been scouring this board and the web for an answer concerning the extended warranty concerning emissions.
I have a 1998 3.0CL with just under 60,000 miles on it. The check engine light has come on several times and I got it cleared by Autozone (Bank 1 O2 sensor). The light would then stay off for a while until I got fed up with it coming on and decided to investigate. I saw the rumblings of an extended warranty to 150,000 miles. I called the dealership in Columbus, OH and he told me that my car was not covered. Discouraged, I took it to a local garage some co-workers recommended and had them install the new sensor ($400 later). The evening I get the car back I drive to my girlfriend's (about 80 mi.) and the next day I was in the parking lot of a restaurant and noticed that the light came back on.... rage and sinking feeling in stomach. I got back into town and made an appointment at the garage for Tuesday morning. I basically convinced myself that the cat converter was out and was furious about shelling out about $1200 in a week for sensors. So... I go to Autozone and they tell me its the bank one sensor. So now I am here once again scouring the internet. I signed up for owner link through Acura and it did not mention an extended warranty. However, Alldata states there is an EGR System warranty extension. Please someone help me. Everything is running fine on the car, but I cannot stand that light being on.
Sorry for the rant.

Definately EGR. Those nice people at the dealership know about it. It's covered up to 80,000 miles. All parts and labor to replace it are covered. And you will get a loaner car from Acura. Don't fret about the transmission man. It's gonna take a shit for sure. But just enjoy your CL for now.
