Hey. So yesterday I got into a "fender bender" and messed my hood up decently. But now I am having problems when I'm driving. When I hit about 3000 rpms, the car seems to go into neutral and then thrust back into 3rd gear. When I drive in 2nd gear its fine. The 3rd gear seems to be the problem. Any input ? PLEASE help. I have a 1999 Acura CL 2.3.

Sounds like your transmission is on it's way out, take it to a tranny shop

The transmission in the CL is weak. There are tons of posts on this matter, but it does sound as though you are losing the transmission in your car. Worst case will cost you around $2000 to fix. Good luck.

If you do get another transmission, be sure to stay on the maintenance. Mine has been fine for almost four years since its replacement. I have a drain and fill every fourth oil change.

HEY cool i have the same problem, i also think it the tranny but try to play around with the throttle cables let me know how it turn out.
