My Friends and i were racing a couple of guys infront on speedzone and i saw the saddest thing. . . there is 98+ v6 accord ex that raced a guy i knew who owned a Chevy Malibu. Both cars had intake and exhaust. here comes the sad part. . . . the accord got beat. not only did he get beat by half a car or was he even at the back bumper. . . he got beat by a whole car length. He got smoked by a Peice of Shit Malibu. . . smoked. . . .sad. . . he even took off the line first.

i was racing a bad ass looking 98+ v6 accord coupe the other day....the car was bad...full vis body kit...hid with projector (i know its hid cuz he turn it one while i was looking at it)...dual HKS...u see all this racing shit in this car....but when i raced him...i wope the shit out of him with my 3.0CL. i dont know why ?=T but we were slow down and running for like maybe 10 to 15miles and i kept on pulling on him at top.

how? your both j30's same engine, same setup. . . i don't know how you beat him. all i know is that the day i get beat by a pos malibu, i'm getting rid of this engine Accordingly

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you both have the same engine, (j30) but the accords have fat dual exhaust pipes and probably loose back pressure.

When I had duals on my 2.3 it was alot slower. Looked sick though, kinda wish I would have kept it, oh well! The gas milage was really shitty too.

Team blurry- did your car get noticably slower with the duals???
I know you did it for your future turbo, but just wondering if you could tell it's slower at low rpms.

i read somewhere...i think it was on the accordv6.com forum that the j30 on the CL is different from the j30 of the accord. something about our cam being different in the mid. theirs is set up to save gas but weaken the mid.

Take it from me, I own a 98 Accord V6 and it is slow, I began to mod it, pullies, helix, headers, SRI, densos, wires.

I pulled everything off this past weekend and am selling it. Pullies are not off yet but maybe I can find someone to swap in TRI State.

Anyway, selling all mods and getting a real sports sedan. The J30 engine is a gutless shame with absolutly no lowend torque.

I'm in a stock red 3.0CL. I've never raced anyone until today. About twenty minutes ago, three big ass trucks (i'm in MS, what do you expect) and a white pos chevy malibu all pinned me on the right side of the road forcing me to almost miss my turn off. Well, the weird thing was that the three trucks went off, but the malibu stayed to my left.

To make a long story short, the white malibu with modded exhaust and some rims that gave him at least 50 horsepower, and I pulled right beside each other at a subsequent light. I was pissed because he almost made me miss my exit and acted like a bitch by moving in front of me when I was obviously trying to pass him earlier.

So, I remembered reading this story and said, I'm finished with this bitch, so I look at him, we both rev, and when it turns green I hit it. I didn't floor it, but I nearly red lined it. VTEC was happy with me today. I pulled away with about two car lengths. It wasn't until about 50 that I really started to pull away. I was cruising at 80 with my now whimpering transmission, haha, on a 45 with that dude in the back of my rearview mirror.

When the speed jumped to 55, the dude tried to catch up. I slowed to 70, but I made sure he wouldn't be able to read my license plate.

I guess you can call this my first kill, though I really didn't kill anything spectacular.

I hope I didn't mess up the tranny or anything else by hitting 6 k rpm, haha. At least I didn't redline it...

yeah i got beat a long time ago at the track by a dude in a malibu but hey it wouldnt happen now and it is still a malibu

My roommate use to have a malibu, the car was in shitty shape and she didn't take care of it. I finally changed the oil the first time for her at 35K miles!

and I swear that car had balls, it was pretty fuckin quick man. I bet it'd give alot of cars a suprise

My buddy has a 00 malibu stock with 20k more miles than my car on it. When we scrap, i always beat him, he seems to have a bit more low end power, but from a rolling start he's screwed. BTW, with my mods now, i easily show him the acura badge.

man i remember when i got my cl n sheit but i was freakin driving home after droppin my freind off n jsut then i was at a light wit this sheity ass freakin piece of junk truck smellin too..he reved up so i decided to see wat he got ..to my suprise i beat him n sheit..n i got the 2.2 auto...at the second light he wanted to race again but this time i didnt want to czu i was runnin out of gas...but the most fucked up part was he was fuckin following me home n sheit...so i had to fuckin leading him somwhere n escape that fuckface....lucky i stil had a lil bit gas left

The Accord (in stock form) has a 30 HP advantage over the Malibu; 5 ft-lbs more Torque; but the Accord is 135 -181 lbs heavier (depending on the year of the Mailbu).

Sounds like the driver of the Accord couldn't drive!

Maybe I couldn't drive either. My friend had a 99 Malibu. He would also get me off the line. But, that was before OBX and AEM became a part of my life.

It made a little improvement from stock, but not much. i seem to have more low end, but my high end just sucks.
