You know it's illegal in NJ to have your front and side windows tinted and going out in the middle of the night in Union is asking for trouble. Do yourself a favor and just take it off. The judge & prosecutor in the court are a bunch of assholes, my boy got a $550 ticket last week for driving on the shoulder. He called me from the court practically crying because he had to explain that to his wife.

Cops in my town are pretty mellow. Never really been fucked with except when I was a teen. As you get older, they fuck with you less and less.
They do watch for out-of-towners though.

Wow, file a complaint, and file one every time this happens. And yeah, you gotta make a note of at least the car # if not the badge and name of the officer.
As for recording, you have every right to maintane a camera in your car. He can not force you to stop the footage.
As for ediquette of being pulled over, Turn off the car, put your hands on the wheel and wait. When he asks for info, only open the window enough for him to take the papers. DON"T ADMIT SHIT! Ask him why you were stopped. If he asks you to exit the car, roll up the windows, and LOCK it. If he asks you to let him SEARCH, you may legally refuse. He wil threaten you and all that, but if he did search without permission, it would get supressed in court and be thrown out. BE POLITE and RESPECTFUL. Don't argue, and NEVER RESIST physically. Ask him if you are being detained or if you are free to go. AGAIN, BE POLITE. MOST IMPORTANT, don't leave anything in plain sight that you don't want seen. He might even say, "I smelled marijuanna." Just respond with, "I don't smell anything." If your car is locked and the windows are up, he has no recourse to look or smell in your car. And as I said, if he forces you to comply with a search... the evidence he finds will not stand up in court. There is a pretty good video on this and other things like when the cops come to your home... etc. Very cool and it was a thread on here.
