Hydrolock story...
Just a heads up as many of you know... be careful about water "puddles".
I was driving down a fairly busy road when it was heavily raining... saw a puddle... saw 4 cars go through in front of me.. and went through.
Cars in the shop now possibly having the whole engine replaced. Needs a new computer for sure... completely fried.
Insurance will cover it though so not a huge deal.
Just reminding everyone that Acura CL's seems to suck water in the intake very easily. My CL was stock not lowered at all and I saw quite a few compact cars go through without a problem. The flooded area of the road was up to the bottom of my car at most. I think it was about an inch below, but with waves coming from cars going through the other direction it splashed up higher.
No water came inside the car etc... but still was able to come in the intake.
Anyway mostly me being an idiot and not realizing the puddle was as deep as it was... and for not immediatly cutting off my car when it started to choke (everything happened sorta fast).
doh!

With the depth he's talkin about it would have to have been an aftermarket CAI. Sorry to hear about the motor bro, this is just another reminder of why I bought a short ram, instead of a CAI.

i don't think he has a CAI just b/c the insurance is willing to cover it. cuz i don't think insurance will cover parts that becomes defective b/c of aftermarket components.
