On the Comptech Sport website, it says that they are gonna make an Icebox for the 98-02 accords. Says "Draws air from outside the hot engine bay.
High flow reusable foam filter element"...Can this be another alternative to the traditional CAI? Which one would perform better?

Thats the same thing that this AEM cold air intake does. The AEM unit would probably flow better just by looking at the two.

You can get a better idea of how the Ice-box is by going to the "Installation" section on Comptech's site and look at the doc for the Accord Icebox install. It's kinda like using a short-stick intake in a box that draws air from the fenderwell.
