How's your 1st gen CL in the snow

So this is my first winter in the CL. I am pretty good at driving in the snow, and have a place at a ski resort in WV (about 4 hours west of Baltimore/Washington), average annual snowfall is 12-14 FEET. So, how is your CL in the snow? Most other owners in my development have 4WD, but I never had problems in the Accord since the roads are paved and plowed regularly, so I'm thinking the CL will be the same. I am a little worried about having a white car in the frequent white-out conditions on the two-lane non-divided highway from the Allegheny Front up to the nearby town, a stretch of about 20 miles. See http://www.mountaintoprealty.com/index.php?a=location for a map of the general area I'm talking about.

I live in Connecticut, my experience so far with snow has been all about the tires, I had some summer sports tires on it before and it was horrible, I would start spinning on flat surfaces if the roads were icy, but after I put on some affordable all-season tires I was straight and never had any problems whatsoever driving in the snow.

I like yankin my ebrake and drifting. It's fun. As for driving, it's good. Just drive slow.

If you are a smart driver then it is really fine. If you've got good tires then you should really have no probals.

if i dont go slow it slides around pretty easily, but the heated seats in the winter makes up for it

Winter tires will make the difference. Get a set of Blizzaks and you will have no problems on the snow and ice. If you have a manual, then sometimes its tricky to start moving once you've stopping on and incline. You just can't give it too much gas.

I just bought some brand new "all weather" Kumho Ecsta tires, I seriously doubt it's going to snow much in everett (seattle area) this year, but hopefully these will perform better than the 1/8 inch tread on my current tires :P

I also have shitty tires and they show. The grip just isn't there like it was.
I'm diein to get some new tires soon but that's still up in the air.
Overall though the traction ain't bad...FWD, heavy car. Can't really go wrong unless you're a careless driver.

I wasn't crazy about how my CL handled on snow (even with new tires)

I thought my old Jetta handled better...and my current A4 w/ quattro is great

If I can get up my steep ass drive way with my snow tires, no traction control, and no sliding, I'd say CL's are great in the snow, you should see my driveway
