How often do you clean your intake filters?
I have bought an APC short ram (now that autodynamic had the focuz intake on backorder for so long with no answer about how much longer to wait) and I was wondering how often you clean your filters? I've heard 9,000 mi.
I can't wait to hear the roar...

Some people say clean it when you change your oil. I've had mine for awhile now and haven't cleaned it because it's a pain in the ass hehe, gotta move the wheel and all that bullshit. Also I read that it's also good to let it be dirty and not clean it all the time because the dirt works for you and helps filter out shit, that's what it said in the K&N air filter manual atleast. 9k seems an awful long time.

i do it like every 3 oil changes. it really isnt that dirty but it does got a nice coating of dirt.

Well, I'll have a short ram so no moving th wheel for me. I don't know what type of filter this particular brand comes with but I will be buying the K&N once I wear it out.
I hope I don't lose too much in the low end torque, cause I don't have enough as it is...

I have a short ram intake as well (Weapon-R) and I usually clean my filter every 2 oil changes (around 6k miles). I have also heard that letting some dirt build up will help with the filter process, but I don't like it to get too dirty......
