I've stuck to a every-20K-mile schedule. However, I'm going to drop to every 15K miles for 2004.
The freakin' owner's manual says to change it at 90K miles!

2 to 3 times a year sounds good to me?
I can get it done for 35$ at a honda/acura dealership
I live in New England where the weather is f*cked up
I HATE the winter, all it does is f*ck youre car up

That what I thought too - 90K. Do you have the other page that isn't for "Normal" driving conditions?

However, they recommend changing the ATF every 30K miles for "severe" conditions.
proaudio22: I would change it now. You never know how many miles are on the old AFT. Plus, it gives you a "baseline" from which to change it from now on.
blako_the_great: $35.00!!!!
That's cheap! You can't even buy the total amount of Honda AFT needed for a complete ATF change from the dealer for $35.00!!!!However, if they're just doing a drain (about 3 quarts), then that's different. You need almost 8 quarts for a flush (complete change). I don't recommend just a drain, but a complete flush every 10K to 20K miles.
i would think it would be the same but i dont think so, cause the auto trannys are rough but then again it depend on how you drive, i would base it on the way you drive and how often you should change it, i would say at least once a year and if you like dust, once every month
jk man i changed mine twice in the past 6 so.... but it loves the new fluid

whats the stats on a manual trans? And is there a different way of going about draining it, then flushing it? I know about ATF but not about my own manual trans.

i have a 98 3.0 - i change mine every two years.....It all depends on how much you drive a year though.
I'm not saying two years or 30k is best, but that about average for me right now.....i'd like ot do it more often though.
Are you guys who are changing it often just drain and refill, or actually "flushing" the system?

It's not really a good idea to flush honda trannies anyway, that's why they have drain plugs
After I got my tranny fluid drained/filled I have no 'shift shock' in any of the gears past 1st gear. It shifts pretty hard when the car is cold in first gear, but in all the other gears the only way you can tell its shifted is the rpm drop. When it warms up, 1st gear shifts really nice too.
