How much is my car worth?
I have a 1998 2.3 with 62,000 miles. Just curious to know what all you other CL owners think my car is worth. It's in great condition still...cloth seats. Any questions let me know fellas, thanks.

I am hoping you would get that much, however, a member was just trying to sell her 1998 3.0 CL with tan leather and in premium condition for 11k. I think she had about the same number of miles..

you could fetch around 10-11g for your car most likely, privately. Trade, your car would probably get you around 7g maybe 8.
The first gen CL just isnt that popular of a car overall. And when you bear other factors into it, such location, economy etc etc. Ours cars just arent worth a whole lot.
If your car is modded expect to get way less if the buyer knows it. Unless its some kid that wants all that and doesnt know shit about buying cars.
But in the end it really shouldnt matter what your car is worth. Sure it helps when wanting to get a new car. But you dont buy a car because you think it will give you some money when you done with it, cars are a negative equity investment. You buy it, you drive it, you move on, should our car fetch you some money when your done great, you just recouped some money you already spent on the car, you havent really gained anything.

I guess it really depends on what kind of buyer you can find at the time of sale. Here is an example of a 2001 CL from one of our members on this board. He has 33600 miles and was in great condition. Leather, navi, 6cyl., still has factory warranty, etc and he sold it for 19,500. Others have been fetching around the same or lower. CL's just don't have that great resale value that other cars hold...especially our first gens because the second gens came out. Just my .02
