How to make a O2 sensor simulator??
I was just wondering if anyone would know how to make an o2 sensor simulator,.. I saw njebj's (spelling?) guide and I was quite confused,.. didn't understand it at all,.. if you have pics please post them,..
thanks,

I searched and couldn't find it, but I've seen pics of wilps. He had a test pipe and drilled a hole for the o2 sensor to reside. Are you trying to use the sensor, or tape it off somehow?

Yeah, i'm trying to bypass it. I'm waiting to receive my highflow cat,.. it doesn't have a hole for the sensor so I'm gonna need to bypass it or make a simulator to avoid getting a CEL,.. i'm probably just gonna mount it beside where it was to keep it out of the way... plus my sensor is bad so just another reason why to bypass it... thanks for the help btw

You're better off just drilling rather than splicing wires to bypass, not as much on here as i thought, but I found this

You should just drill and tap the hole. But if you really want to bypass the O2, you need to find out what the line voltage is, then determin the resistance put on the circuit bby the sensor when it is functioning properly. Then when you have made that determination, build and solder a little board with the correct resistance/load to put out the correct, expected voltage to the ECU.
EXAMPLE:
O2 feed circuit tests at 3V @ 400ma from the ECU
ECU expects -.5V deviation @ 400ma on return circuit
A .5V resistor would produce the correct voltage, but you need to maintain the milliamps with a transistor. The circuit would be simple, but it would need to be tested thoroughly befor you hooked it to your ECU. You could potentially ruin the ECU if you do this wrong.
PLEASE NOTE: my example is not the accurate ratings. I have no idea what they should be, but you can get that from the Helms manual. Maybe wilp99 could look it up for you. Good luck.
