how to intall muffler?

how to intall muffler?

can i install a muffler on my 97. 3.0 Cl without anything extra? ie, if i buy just a muffler, can i put it on at home, or do i need to have someone do it for me?

Can you weld? if not, you better find a shop. Besides, muffler shops work pretty cheap for a straight install. Not much time required. But yeah, if you don't have a MIG or TIG, forget about it.

Yeah, you can do it. You would need exhaust clamps. But your piping would have the be just a little bit larger/smaller than the pipe that comes out of your muffler

ya u can just use clamps that look like a "U"...just tigten it down nice...but i dont think it is as good as welding, but definately easier

Its def easier, but Get your muffler welded on, or you'll lose it on the highway

just take it to an exhaust shop...like 15min and ur cruising again

I had cherry bomb on my 88 couger held in by those u brackets. I didnt tighten them enough and I pulled up to a stop sign and the muffler came off and started rolling. It rolled out infront me and thats how I knew it came off....

I was quoted $60 for the weld. As far as I can tell that's a good deal, another shop offered to do it for $120. What do you guys think?

60 is close enough, cost me something like 45 or 50 for install, i would just pay it and get it over with

Just make sure the guy can weld. I had a guy burn through the piping on my Teg. Then the shop wanted to charge me for new pipe. I said hell no, you guys burned through it... You got to fix it or I'll get a lawyer involved. They repiped it without another word. $60 isn't bad. Not great, but not bad.

In the 909/951 area, we get it for $30. Anyone out here, let me know. I'll tell you where to go.
