nope... it kept going! the needle on the RPMs were still climbing (slowly) and i let off the gas rite before it hit redline... scared the shit outta me cause i never been that fast before...

if i had to take a guess on how fast i was goin... id say about 147... im just judging by the space in between from the 140 mark to where the needle left off at. i honestly didnt think our cars can go that fast! i was actually dicked around with a 4dr g35 and i blew past him (trying to get home) and i guess he thought i was trying to race him (i had maaaaaaaad space in between us. oh and this is at 2 in the morning with no traffic). i looked in my rear view and see him coming FAST (but he was still back there). at this point im already at 120. i gunned it to see if i can out run him. by the time i hit 140, we were side by side. he starts inching up slowly and slowly till his back bumper is at my front!... at this point im guessing we both topped out cause no one was gaining any yardage! thats when i realised i was waaay over the 140 mark!... we both let off the gas and gave a THUMBS UP. he asked what i had... i said " an ebay intake!!" and laffed! he was stock.

Yea I've gotten it up to 125 before 0_0... it didnt take long either

 

pinned it myself a couple times,did 120 on the reg before she fell apartthey normally jump to 115-120(in d3) then slows up in 4th but if you got enough road and don't let off she'll max out.funny thing i tried to tap my moms accord(94lx) out and it cut out at around 130-135

the point and shoot pics at 140 didn't come out and no one would ride with me and get a good one

 

I still never took it past 130. But man does it hit 130 fast! I can see this thing easily pull up to 150.

i have pegged it 140 actually the speedo went even a little bit farther

2nd Gens top out around 148 (looked like 150 on speedometer but there is a speed limiter so it couldn't have been)...

I've only hit it once with it in D4.

Yeah, I have never seen a 1st gen cl's cluster in person and like I said, it looked like my teg's cluster did (which was stick). I completely forgot that the CL in hte picture could of been a stick.

Excuse me people but I haven't read the entire thread yet. First of all - does the kid know exactly what he raced? Was the car a 240Z or a 240SX? If it was a 240Z you may have had a chance if it was beat out to hell since the car is nearly 30 years old. On the other hand, if you're talking about a 95-97 240SX there is no way you beat that car. I've owned a 240SX and a CL2.2 (only one ounce HP difference in the 2.2 and 2.3) and there's no way you're pulling away from a 5spd 240SX even if it was stock. The dude in the EVO probably didn't even know you was behind him.

 

Seriously, the only one on here to beat an evo legitly is cocoa, cuz he has a monster CL
