How do you remove the windshield wiper assembly?

I removed the 14mm bolt-evidentially that is to adjust the wiper arm not remove it. I am asking because I want to repaint the arm.

once you remove the bolt it should just slide off. try pulling the arm up so its at 90 degrees then slide it up.

That bolt is how you take it off. There is a spring in there that hold that arm down. If you fold the arm up then it will just slide off. The spring is pushing the arm at an akeward angle whiich is not leting you pull it off because it is basically caught on the threads....just fold the arm up and pull it off...

I'll be doing this before the winter starts. Maybe I'll use the left over paint and do something with the grill too.

Is there some way to make the spring tighter I guess? So the wipers would press against the windshield more. At highway speeds, it doesn't seem to wipe as well.
