I keep getting PEO whenever I put a burned CD in my 1st gen! Has anyone figured out how to fix this? Right now, the only burned CD that works is a 50-cent one and I'm getting tired of listening to it. I tried putting a CD cleaner in and it worked for a while, but now that its cold here, it isn't working and I keep getting P-E-O... I hate P-E-O... BTW what does it mean?

might be the cd youre using, if youre using a cd-rw i highly doubt they play those, but if its a cd-r then thats a different story, and i have no idea what that acronym stands for

 

it means you gotta fork out some money for a new deck.

 

LC.. i'm agreeing w/ u cuz when i put in burnt or brand new CD's..i get the PEO also, so i'm buying me a new deck..i tried cleaning the lens w/ the CD disk cleaner and still didnt work.. so off to Best buy this weekend..

I get PEO all the time when I put in CD-RW's...CD-R's work fine however...wierd. I just started buying CD-R's instead of RW's instead of buying a new deck.

The stock ALPINE POS they put in the 1st Gen CLs wa at best disappointing. I replaced mine with a JVC in-dash CD that plays MP3s and has a line-in on the front for my wife's IPOD. ALPINE SUCKS PEO POS Get Rid Of It!

Mine used to do that also and it was so annoying since i travel 1hro to my school and 1 hr back home with no damn cd player.

My car used to do that with burnt or legit CDs. But i kind of figured out a ghetto remedy for it which was whnever i get to a red light i would turn the car completely off and then back on and i guess the laser "readjusted itself" and it played again (about 65% effective).

I also noticed that it started giving me the PEO code (which means "fart" in spanish) after i lowered the car.

 

Mine does that too, I tried cleaning it with a disk cleaner, but it didn't work. It won't play any burned cd's, and only the legit ones play.
