how come none of you guys are going F20B?

How come none of you guys are going F20B? It's basically a destroked prelude motor from what I have had explained to me. It's got 200 HP and rev's higher then the h22. It's what was in the japanese accord SIR-t

Probably because to order the Japanese spec SIR-T engine is harder than getting an H22.

These are not cheap engines... And some people will sell really old engines for the same as new engines because you can't tell how many miles are on these things.

when I first found out about that engine and did a search on it....price not less that $4500 for complete swap...whitch means around $3k for just the engine alone...hard to find...and if you want to do mods to it, be prepared to pay a lot of money to get all the parts from japan....that's if there is a lot of parts for it....I think they do make a lot of parts...I dont known...but those were my reasons...

For a couple reason. First of yes it is a destroked h22 that displaces 2.0 liters. It has the same exact hp as the h22 200 HP. But some of the reason I didn't buy one is because since all f20b's are obd2 they sell for quite a lot. You can find a complete swap for around $4,000-$5,000. Why would you pay that much for the swap when you can get an h22 for $2,000 and put out the same HP? For $5,000 you can buy an h22 type s swap that puts out 220 HP. It doesn't seem worth it to me.
But there is one thing I really like about the f20b, the blue valve cover. I liked it so much that I bought one for my h22.

Does the F20 have the same mount configuration?

Will the tranny locate the axles in the right spot?

That's right, you guys are all back east, cause they can be gotten out here for about 3K and parts aren't that hard to come by.

It has the same exact mount configuration as an h22 so it would fit into a CL nicely.

www.JDMhondaparts.com has the complete f20b swap for $4,000 and they have have the complete H22 type S swap for $4,500. If I had to pick between the 2 and $500 was the deciding factor I would definately get the type s engine, so I could have the extra 20 HP and a tranny with LSD.

The h22 type s comes with a port and polished head, more aggressive cams, higher compression pistons (11.1 vs. usdm h22 10.1) and some other little things that give it an extra 20 HP.

LSD is limited slip differential. Basically what it does is that equal amount of power is transferred onto both of your front wheels. Without lsd power is not always equally transferred and you get less traction.

i'd take the higher reving 2.0, more power can always be made, 20 hp isn't much stock for stock. But the lsd is a good factor, but i remember reading the sir had lsd too

I dunno scottie...it depends...cuz if you wanna go FI....i think that the f20b is probably better....whereas the H22TYPES is probably a better stand alone...all motor type set up

i wouldn't do a f20 swap for the simple reason of torque. the s2000 doesnt weigh 3000lbs. i dont have enough torque with my 2.2. yeah u prob have a higher top speed, but how long is it gonna take to get there?

I think you're mistaking the F20B for the F20C (S2000 i-vtec). Correct me if I am wrong. On the other hand, if an H22Ax or F20B were made to have the same power outputs in terms of hp as an F20C (240hp).....the torque curve and peak would be very similar, if the torque is something you're very concerned with.
