Hit and Run!

My car got smashed when I was eating at a diner. It was a Hit and Run!! My poor baby! I'm screwed cuz it happened 2 mo. after I switched from full cov. to Liability. Anybody know a alternative place I can get my these parts?

I need these parts on the front of the drivers side:
A new Mirror (the whole shabang not just the glass). $140 at the dealer.
A new Door (Just the exterior) $640 at the dealer. OUCH!
A new Fender. $184 at the dealer.

Or the estimate at a local bodyshop was $500 without the mirror work. The guy said he could fix the door without replacing it, but you know how that goes.

I'm uptown Manhattan close to the Bx/Yonkers/Westchester etc.
Oh and my car is black. I'm going to check back later because I have to get to class.

Hey do yourself a favor and get a door from a junk yard like I did. I got the complete setup: Door, Window Glass, Mirror, all internal components, basically the whole door and simply just a bolt on. Cost me $550. And you can get it from a car that matches your color. Best Deal there.

A Fender from a junk yard will cost you about $50 and no need for a paint job.

So that means you get a fixed car for $600 total and you can easily do it yourself (sort of, the door is heavy).

And where is there a junk yard with all this stuff you ask? Good Question... J/K The following is a website that has a list of all available registered junk yards with whatever parts needed for any type of car. You can choose whatever you need from the drop down box.

Here it is: http://www.car-part.com

You should seriously consider this. I had to fix my car on the whole passenger side and the quarter panel on the driver side. Saves you alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Cost me a total of $1000 to fix an estimated damage of $8000.

I can run on and on but hope this helps you.

(Sheesh, I sound like an advertisement!! )

Peace,
James

i was pissed when i smased my car back in may, but now becuase of it i got a true hid setup, finally ordered koni yellows for the damn springs i had for over a year now, got the energy suspension bushing kit, prob side skirts and rear lip, and my car will be fixed. it turns out that it was actually the best thing that could have happened to me. hope it turns out good for u too. hopefully some1 can help you find parts cheap. u might be better off getting liability again and then filing a claim. idk

Going to a salvage yard will save you some serious loot. If one near you dosen't have the parts you need in the right color. They should be able to find the right one's for you and get them shipped.
