I suppose this would be a good alternative to a pnp hid kit. However, some things to note. On the above picture of the corvette...the glare 'above the cutoff' doesnt appear to be diminished at all. In fact, it seems to be more exaggerated and pronounced now that there's greater output. I'd imagine that's not too pleasing to oncoming traffic. And the ground output looks extremely scattered and uneven (tons of 'pencil beams' in the foreground). Just another reason why it's better to go with a retrofit. I know, it's not for everyone, and it does take a bit more work, but in the end, if it's really safety you want...retrofits cannot be beaten.
But this does look like a viable alternative to regular pnp halogen hid kits (though I'm not even sure what the benefits are as there's still glare and less light output than 4300k kits), and the price point leaves little to be desired over a pnp kit, especially since halogen bulbs typically have a much shorter lifespan than hid capsules.
