HID temperature color

What do you guys think about the perfect temperature color. I know someone said 4300k, but I am looking for that nice blue look. Would 8000k be blue enough? or would I need to go higher?

I think 8000k would be blue enough, any higher, and you're going to loose a lot of light.

4300 you can barely tell difference
6000 is baby bluish/white
7000 is baby blue/light purple
8000 and up starts getting pink and its not as bright...

i would go with some 6000's

IMO - go 4300 - 6000...you'll be happy

if you go 8K it will be blue. it will still be better than stock halogen. BUT - 1) visability will be diminish substantially in wet conditions, so get a good pair of fogs, 2) you're gonna attract attention, get a ticket and thats $300 or so down the drain or $150 or so to change the bulbs.

if you want something that looks trick...get a pair of ECE valeo projectors out of a S2000 or A4/S4....modify the shield, throw some 6K bullbs in and watch the magic.

I personally want 6000K. I'd go with that or 4300 too.

Thanks to all. I will go with the 6000k ones, I hate driving at night in my current setup! The HIDs look sick and the stock shit is very very crap.

4300is the best

guys once you go high in kelvins for HIDs you lose output and brightness

bulbs color shift at 100 hours, and will turn a more bright white/blue when 100+ hours hit with 4300k bulbs

i would personally go with 4300 oem bulbs, i know they will last longer than any other HID bulb out there that is higher rating

but then again, who says i know anything about HIDS ( thats being sarcastic )

do a search ive talked about this many times before, and if you want more info go here

www.hidplanet.com/forums

im a avid member on there and they have lots of info, but projectors is the only way to go if you do HIDS and if anyone has seen my new setup or VXCL's old setup will know projectors is the only way to go when doing HID's

^ yes we know that, you've lectured us on that everytime an HID thread pops up. And IMO, it's not that big of a deal if you know that about HID's, that's like the basic info. Who in hell would think 10000K is brighter than 4300K?

Joe owns when it comes to projectors, him and Mike (VXCL) are the grandaddys of HL mods.

a LOT of people think that the higher kelvin rating is the brighter their HID's are gonna be. I see these stupid ass people with misaligned bright blue or bright purple HID driving idiots all the time. These are the kind of people that go lYke OMG 14000K lIkE hEllS yah! Youd be surprised what some people think
