HID question

I know that the 900x fit kits are outlawed here in the states, and that the best way to go is to retrofit some projectors in, but i was wondering what is (if there is) the difference between the phillips hid kit and the phillips stage 2 kit? Basically what is this stage 2 stuff and is it worth an extra $100+.

Thanks!

hmm...If i can remember correctly, the stage I hid's output a 4100k-4300k rating while the stage II outputs at a 6000k rating. Mainly, color..The stage II is going to seem brighter and more blue, while the stage I will seem more white.

gotcha, so fundamentally its just a marketing ploy, since most of the big names in the HID game, Osram, Hella, etc. say that anything over the 4k range really doesn't do much for you.

thanks for the info!

i like the audi HID purple...man thats hot

heres some audi tt's (4100k)for ya. kits cant touch this for shieeet!

also anything over 4300k is just for looks and light output becomes worse. especially in the rain.

i want the best for the money, best look and visibility, i live in the middle of no where Idaho and well I've hit three deer since i was 15 (that's about 1 every 3 years) and there is numerous other wildlife on teh roads at night; so i want the best for seeing at night, and what looks good.

If you are aiming for the best output and usable light, then you need to stick with 4100k. Basically if you get a projector setup on your car, I believe the 4100k rating is refered to as 4300k(sometimes). IMO, it's the projectors that give the audi, bmw, benz, etc. their color, but so far all car manuf. only put out 4100k bulbs.

projectors, ballasts, bulbs $420 SHIPPED (upper 48)

i dont usually have extra bulbs
so projectors and ballasts $370 SHIPPED (upper 48)

maybe less, depends on how u pay and what projectors you choose. ex. audi tt, s2000, are hard to get. and then there's bi-xenons.

VXCL, have you tried to get BMW's Angel Eyes to fit in our headlight assembly?
Here's a shot of some angel eyes on an Accord.
Are you willing to build some?

Also, has anyone tried modding the rest of the lights? I want to make my corner parking lights my turn signals, and the actual turn signal the parking light. Has anyone tried this yet?

Thanks
Tom

how much would it cost to get an s2000 projector in my cl housing? is this hard to do? is this what you guys call 'RETROFIT'? i would like to get HIDS but i want it to look and shine nice, i want my HIDS to shine exactly like on the s2000, when i look at an s2000 driving behind me, the light seems to flicker different colors and it looks awesome! does anyone know what HID kit the s2000 comes with? and is it 4100k or what???
