HID project update
ALL parts have arrived and i installed one of the bmw projectors in my driverside headlamp. looks bad ass!!! im going to run tests on it for a while before i cut the other one up. i swear our headlmaps were made for this setup cuz it looks oem. its unbelievable. couldnt have went any smoother. i also have to test my aiming system to make sure it has enough adj. but it looks like i got it right the 1st time. all i got to do is paint my housings black and seal everything back up. one prob i do have is in order to change the bulb on the driver side i must take the bumper off and loosen the headlamp in order to remove the hid connector off the bulb. i need like an extra 1/4". oh well the bulbs should last awhile n e ways. il get pics when i get back from college in PA in 2 weeks cuz i need to borrow my girls digi camera and my car is at home in nj.

blacura - Im at Penn State @ state college PA.
tha goat - i painted the housing black but i left the reflector alone. for 2 reasons.
1. it will draw too much attemtion to the projector itslef
2. i think it will look wierd if one side was blacked out while the high beam isnt
some light spills out and lights up the reflector and it looks good.
as far as mounting the projector i basically just enlarger the hole where the oem bulb went in the housing after u take the rubber piece off and the metal ring.

pics are commin dont worry. i only got one day to work on them and had to go back to college. so far so good. just want to test my aiming and im cuttin up the passenger side. last test after that is moisture. i left 2 vent holes on the rear of housing to let heat out from the projector. dont know if i had to or not. the projector is oval in the back so my ciruclar hole in the housing has a small gap on top and bottom. no need to seal it if i dont have to. but the circular lense in the relector fits like a glove. trust me i wish i was home so i can play with my toys. ill be droppin my car with prokits and koni yellows on the lower perch. also got a complete energy suspension bushing kit. so ill be postin up pics of that stuff too. then im gettin a new bumper cover and bumper parts and kaminari sides and ww rear lip so ill be have pics of them shortly also. last on my list is a new hood. ill live with a small dent for now. i would like to get the front and rear lips molded to the bumper covers so i dont know all soon that will be done. -MiKE

HAHAHAAH u have to take headlight housings completely apart and them cut them up to fit the projector through u dont use the 9006 harness n e ways. i just taped a + for the passenger side headlight and used it for turn on lead for a relay. this way the hids are powered directly from the battery.
my car will look similar to this but i did a cleaner install. i swear it looks oem. ill have pics later this week. i finished up my 2nd housing so i ready for some pics. then ill get final pictures up later.

A relay and extra wirring is not needed... HID's draw much less current than halogen bulbs... the stock wirring is plenty... if it wasnt, the fuse would blow.
And getting positive power from the headlight harness wont work, when the headlights are switched on, the ground is switched... not the positive...
And I wanna know, what kind of friggen relay did you get?? $20 for a relay is ridiculous!

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
hey vxcl i wanted to let you know you got off easy try getting a MIP in Federal Land in California, i was fined 350 bucks, banned from Federal Parks for 2 years and my insurrance was hiked up almost 500 bucks more a year. i hate cali judicial system they are all fucked up in the head. note for all you calis i got the MIP in Lake Shasta at Boardstock in 1999 when i wasnt even drinking i was just holding it for a friend cause i was the DD that night. how much does that suck. I had to then drive from san jose back up to shasta just for my court date. it sucked major
