hid kit help

I have just bought a denso hid kit. I am not sure how to install it. It looks like a basic plug and play kit where u hook up the balast to the hallogen socket and then the ballast to the new bulbs. My friend has the same kit and he says that u need to add wires and a bunch of stuff. I was wondering if i hook it up the way i think to hook it up, as in the simple plug and play way, will it mess up anything? Also how do u reposition the light beam? Thanks

The relay is to power the ignitors, because it takes more power to start them than keep them running. If the kit didn't come with one, than you may be ok, depends on the kit. My hella gen 3 ballasts from a bmw requires a relay to power the ignitors, I tried powering them without and the lights would not ignite. As far as aiming, if you're using a 9006 bulb kit, just use the stock aiming, there are knobs on the back of the hl's that move the reflectors and bulbs to aim
