HID for high beam?

Do we have the option to replace our high beam lights with an HID kit? Does anyone know the size for the high beam?

Also, what color temperature do most people go with? I am aiming for the S2000 HID look, real real bright with a tint of blue or purple. I was thinking of 6000K. So does this sound okay, and does the brand really matter? I see some HID kits on ebay for like $289 but not sure of the brand.

Get projectors (Bi-Xenon) it has high/low beams in the same thing....and its so much better.

My mom has HID's in her Lexus, and I have projectors in my 3.0....I'll be honest....the output is better and it looks better on the car! I have 4100k bulbs so I have a lot of output.

You want that bright blue or purple....you will lose some light output....I recommend 5300k or 6000k (Nice color/output)

Dustbuster4 has 6000k output, I'm sure he can give input on this.

Get projector headlights? That would save a lot of money. Would I have to change out a whole new headlight? Can someone give me a link to a picture?

So can you still keep the same housing but change out the high beam lights with the kit?

Look at VXCL (2nd from top) He's the projector master.

You have to dremel the back of the headlight unit to fit the projector in....I did a decent job, but VXCL does the nicest job.....There are instructions all over this forum

a 9006 kit will work in ur high beam. its the same bulb connector. u may need to make one of the tabs smaller, but i dont think so. thats only to fit 9005 in 9006 i believe.

however i am against kits for many reasons.
-paying for technology that u dont get the full benefit of
-replacement parts cost a lot and are normally specific to ur kit
-most kits use cheap bulbs
-u have to buy high rated kelvin kits to mimic oem 4100k d2r setups

for pics look at my avatar. for parts im getting new stuff friday.

all oem bmw, audi, etc parts

price for bulbs, ballasts, projectors
$339 + shipping

bi-xenons
$389 +shipping

So you would get H7 projector lights, cut out the back of the housing to fit the projectors, and replace the projector light bulbs with an H7 HID kit? By doing this I will get both my low beam and high beam to be HID?

So how would I wire the two seperate harnesses of the low and high beam into one H7 bulb?

what are bi-xenons? so the stuff you're getting are the projector lights with everything to make them HIDs? I'll just have to have them fitted into my housing. And they are genuine BMW, Audi parts?

YES! Biggest draw back IMO. I have no idea what the real color temp of my HID kit is, but it's somewhere between 6-7K. It was said to be 7K, but the instructions that I finally found says that it is a Phillips capsule - and the most they make is 6K so w/e lol. I don't really care, I did it for the look and I like it. However, the light output is very blue/white, compared to a yellowish white from OEM systems. Most people (ahem ricers) don't understand that the blue color of an HID housing/etc does not come directly from the color temp of the bulb. My kit looks just like an OEM CL/TL/etc HID kit at the housing - so if you buy a kit and you want the look - buy 6-7K. I have a buddy that has 6K bulbs in his OEM Lexus HIDs, they look almost purple.

As far as my kit, I'll post another thread about the info I found. It's a Japanese kit lol.

Mike, if you ever get a pair of S2000 projectors, let me know! I want some!!! First dibs :P
